WhatsApp is currently evaluating a number of upcoming improvements in order to improve the user experience. WABetaInfo revealed that Meta-owned WhatsApp is testing a cover image for desktop users after discovering the optional subscription service for WhatsApp business users.
This new WhatsApp feature is currently in the testing stage. It is now only available on iPhones, but it will be made available to desktop and Android users in the near future. The concept behind this new WhatsApp Beta feature is that the cover photo attracts customers and the business community. WhatsApp, like LinkedIn, will see a rise in business profiles. Once the profile is opened, a cover image for a business account will appear. The cover picture will be visible not only to business contacts, but also to normal WhatsApp users that visit the business contact. This rectangle cover photo will appear behind the round display picture, much like on Facebook. Furthermore, WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp development tracker, has released a screenshot of the next update, revealing that users will be able to choose their image from the phone's media or upload any image directly from the source.
This is a fantastic improvement for the business community to help them better display their portfolios and guide and assist visitors. To further excel in the competitive market, one might display Sales offers, services, and much more information on the cover photo.
In addition, WABetaInfo discovered that WhatsApp is working on a 'Status reply indicator' for Android, Desktop, and iOS users, which will allow them to see the replies to their status instantaneously. In the screenshot posted by WABetainfo, a little indicator can be seen, which will make it easier for individuals to notice the comments made to them based on their status upload. This Status indication would be a fantastic addition to WhatsApp because it makes it easier to distinguish between a status reply and a regular message reply. On the Conversation screen, the new symbol will show, and a simple peek at the chat list will indicate a status reply.
Along with these new capabilities, enhanced link previewing options in WhatsApp status and other emoji reactions are also being tested, and we can't say when they'll be available to the entire public.
As previously stated, beta testers do not have access to the Status-reply indication. We'll keep an eye on it and let you know as soon as the functionality is complete.
