Apple's recent iOS 15.6 beta 2 release appears to have resolved an odd issue in which the Apple Music app took the place of other apps in the Dock.
The problem, which was initially discovered last month, meant that when you downloaded the Apple Music app, its icon would appear in the Dock, often replacing whatever was previously there if there was no room. It didn't help matters that only third-party apps were removed from the dock, which sparked outrage – with some speculating that this was a deliberate effort by Apple. Apple later clarified to iMore that this was not the case and that a solution was in the works.
While some may say that Apple Music is the best iPhone music streaming software on the App Store, this isn't the case for everyone. Even those who agree with you may not want it in your Dock, making this a problem that affects everyone. What's the good news? The solution is on its way. What's the bad news? We have no idea when iOS 15.6 will be available to the general public.
However, it's likely that the update will arrive soon. The software is now in the hands of developers and public beta testers, and Apple plans to launch the iOS 16 beta programme in less than a week, on June 6, at the WWDC22 opening keynote. Apple has been known to run two beta programmes at the same time, although it is unlikely to do so for an extended period of time.
